This was my final scheduled slot at Catch the Fire Raleigh, my husband and I have finished our time at ministry school and we are waiting on US immigration paperwork for the VISA extension allowing us to go and be part of CTF Myrtle Beach.
When I was preparing for painting and asking the Lord for guidance, I was drawn to a picture of an eagle saved on my “painting bucket list.”
I thought about how weary we were, how much refining and reshaping has happened but more so, how much is still required for being launched into our first ministerial employment!
America was such an idol for us both for so long, it defined us and it wasn’t until we submitted our lives and plans to God that the doors to being here opened, and the same for staying here...fully surrendered to Him, not to our own desires, He is making a way for our dreams to be our reality. Now we are placing our hope in God, and not in the outcome.
Feeling empty and exhausted by the process (there’s always a process!) I thought about The scripture, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
(â€â€Isaiah‬ â€40:31‬)‬‬ it seemed an appropriate way to mark the end of a chapter and commencement of a new season.
I was promptly greeted by someone as I stepped off stage who told me they had to have the painting. He said he just knew exactly what it would be from the first few strokes, the tips of its wings. The day before at a prophetic event, this visiting prophet received a vision from someone based around one of his cornerstone scriptures, Isaiah 40, about being propelled into a new season of ministry and the vision had been of his late wife, soaring on the wings of eagles as will he in his next chapter...an encouragement to wait on the Lord, through weariness and in times of discouragement we were both greatly encouraged!
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
